The trailer located at the Salisbury Mall left in the wee hours of Saturday morning, taking a full load of donations from local people to Gulfport, Miss.

In the meantime, Brian Moody of Salisbury works part-time with Mike's Wrecker Service in Concord, and as a result has been able to make arrangements for trailers that are needed because of Hurricane Katrina.

He procured the first trailer that was at Salisbury Mall until Andy Lamber of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle drove it down to the Gulf area Saturday.

"And the people there were really grateful," Moody says.

"We took a couple of days off and then set up in the Wal-Mart parking lot to try to increase traffic flow.

"When this trailer is full, we'll take it down to Salisbury's sister city, Pascagoula, Miss., as well as Waveland, Miss., which was one of the places where the large Rowan County Sheriff's Department delegation that went to the Katrina-damaged area worked."
