hey there,
I used to have a tow truck flat deck with beavertail and winch and stuff and I was doing scrap car removal. It just kinda happened slowly, I was always changing vehicles and one day someone offered me a flatdeck in trades for a suburban 4x4 i had...i knew the flatdeck would come in really handy so i traded and my 9to5 is in printing so i made up some cards with my name on it and number and started giving them out to people i met and told them if they ever had a scrap car they wanted to get removed i was up for it...well within 3 months i was getting about 1 free car a week...and for about 2 years straight i did that...it wasnt like cars were worth much for scrap, but i liked getting parts and projects for dirt cheap or free...
so i sold that truck one day after i got married and now i have a bunch of extra money around from selling our house, and i want to buy another flatdeck tow truck and get a business license and go back to what i was doing for over 2 years...i didnt realize it at the time but i was doing crazy overtime alot and it didnt even seem like i was working at all because i loved doing it...so now that ive realized i should probably try and make a go of something i like to do rather than the daily grind...
any tips to someone that is just startting out on his own?
that and im looking for a flatdeck truck in the Vancouver BC Canada area....know of any for sale to me locally...i will travel outside of Vancouver to find a truck but id like it to be a BC truck atleast...
